Dear Friends,

For those who don't know me, my name is Clayton (Call me Clay) Douds, founder of O'Douds. Ten years ago, O'Douds was just an idea—me in my kitchen, mixing a jar of pomade for my own use. I never intended to start a brand, but soon friends began asking for jars, and one thing led to another. Before I knew it, I was shipping orders across the world. Today, O'Douds products can be found in places like Japan, Vietnam, Germany, Poland, Canada, and many more to come. What a journey it has been, and it’s all thanks to you.

From the very beginning, we built this brand with shared values at its core. At O’Douds, we’ve never believed in exclusivity. Our ethos has always been For Anyone + Everyone—products that work for all people, rooted in simple, honest ingredients. From the earth, for the earth. Our customers have always embodied that spirit. You are sensible humans, thoughtful about the products you use and mindful of your impact on the world. We see that in every conversation, in every order, and in every message you send us. Your support and shared values are what have allowed us to keep pushing forward, and for that, we are endlessly grateful.

A key part of our growth has been learning how to do better for the planet. Over the past year, we made a significant change by switching our iconic amber glass jars to aluminum containers. We know this came as a surprise to some of you, so I’d like to take a moment to explain why this shift matters.

As part of our ongoing commitment to sustainability, we recently transitioned from our iconic amber glass jars to aluminum containers. This change reflects our goal to do better by the planet—aluminum is infinitely recyclable, lighter for shipping, and more durable for everyday use. It also helps us reduce our carbon footprint, so together, we can make a positive impact. It’s a small step, but one that reflects our promise to leave the world better than we found it.

Cultivating a Greener Future
At O'Douds, we’ve always believed that nature and community go hand in hand. That’s why we’re growing our garden, not just metaphorically but literally. It’s our way of creating a more sustainable future—one that helps us, and hopefully our community, give back to the earth that has provided so much for us. It’s a small gesture, but we believe it’s the little things that make a difference. We hope to inspire others to plant, grow, and foster community, in whatever way they can.

As we look forward to the next 10 years, we’re excited to deepen our connection with local communities and distribution partners abroad. Our goal is to foster long-term partnerships that align with our values, supporting the people and businesses that believe in our mission.

Supporting those at the grassroots level, especially in independent shops, reflects the same entrepreneurial spirit that sparked O'Douds a decade ago. Together, we can continue cultivating a future that’s greener, more sustainable, and built on community.
